 | With Dirac Live® you will not only get the state-of-the-art digital room correction technology. These high-resolution time- and frequency domain filters also compensate for imperfections in the physical layout of the loudspeaker system. The result is a substantially improved musical staging, clarity, and precision not just in a small sweetspot but in the entire listening volume. On top of this, you can easily apply your own branded sound identity to all of your sound systems.
Dirac Live® puts you - the listener- into where the music actually happens. By digitally optimizing the output from each speaker of the audio system such that it is perfectly adjusted to the acoustical behavior of the listening environment, a totally transparent and true sound can be delivered.
Dirac Live® analyzes the space in which it works - your audio system - and determines the proper timing and amplitude of each part of the performance so that the purest possible signal reaches your ears.
Emotionally, Dirac Live® allows you to be involved with the music, not just to “listen” to it or be bombarded by it. The goal of Dirac Live® is that music reaches you completely uncolored by acoustic limitations.
• You are face to face with the recorded artists
• Your music is staged perfectly
• Your music reaches you as the artists intended when they made the recording
• Your Dirac Live® digital acoustic tuning assures the purest possible reproduction
Technically, Dirac Live® improves on other digital room correction systems - as customer benchmarks show - by not just making minimum-phase or linear-phase adjustments to the frequency response. Dirac Live® is unique in offering true mixed-phase impulse response correction. This is achieved not just in a small listening region, but in a volume of arbitrary size. Several measurement positions and separate time and frequency-domain criteria are used to make sure all of the common pitfalls (over-compensation, under-compensation, pre-ringings, decorrelation, etc.) in advanced room correction are avoided.
Variable frequency and time resolution is used to correct not just for an average response smoothed with some standard resolution. Instead, the degree of detail in the correction is determined from the amount of spatial variations both in the time domain and the frequency domain. This gives a perfectly balanced correction that adjusts to the size of the sweetspot and brings out the full potential of your listening room and audio equipment. The optimal target frequency response may not always be flat. Instead, the Dirac Live® software suggests an adjustable target based on the actual system measurements.
Dirac Live® sharpens the sound image, improves clarity and tightens up the bass. Since stereo perception depends crucially on the similary, or correlation, between the signals at the left and right ears, which in turn is determined by the impulse responses of the left and right signal paths, only true mixed-phase impulse response correction can improve the spatial perception of a sound reproduction.
Without Dirac Live® you fail to obtain an accurate stereo image and loose bass tightness. Overall clarity is lost and you are listening to a sound system instead of a musical performance. Our goal is to make you forget the sound system. Dirac Live® lets the artists perform truly to their intentions. |
