Dirac Research (www.dirac.se), sound technology provider to Rolls Royce, BMW, Naim Audio and other world leading brands, has announced the introduction of the Dirac Live Room Correction Suite™, a powerful software solution that delivers optimized sound quality for any PC or Mac®-based HiFi system. The software, which requires a microphone, measures the acoustic performance of the system within the listening room and optimizes playback performance accordingly, providing the most transparent music reproduction possible.
A point of emphasis with the Dirac software is that it optimizes
all sound from the computer using any music/media player as well as
standard sound output devices. It was designed to be very
easy-to-use but also highly precise and without compromise in terms
of sound quality and/or flexibility for the advanced user. Because
the Dirac software uses the computer as a digital signal processing
engine, there is no need for additional costly audio electronics.
It is an ideal solution for anyone seeking better performance from
their computer-based HiFi system.
"The Dirac Live Room Correction Suite has been tailored to the
growing number of consumers who are using their computer as an
audio source," explained Dr. Mathias Johansson, CEO at Dirac. "We
have leveraged the processing power of the home computer, enabling
each user to optimize their listening experience based on their
existing speakers and environment. Our goal has been to offer a
better sound quality upgrade than any other HiFi component can
provide at the same price," Johansson concluded.
The Dirac Live Room Correction Suite is based upon an acclaimed
digital signal processing technology born from years of research
and development. Used by digital cinemas around the world, leading
consumer electronics manufacturers and automakers such as Rolls
Royce, BMW and Bentley, Dirac has become an established leader in
loudspeaker and room optimization. Now available at a completely
different price range than ever before, music aficionados will
enjoy how the software tightens the bass, removes resonances,
focuses the stereo image and makes voices smooth and clear.
The suite supports up to 8 channels and up to 24 bit resolution at
a 96 kHz sampling rate. The technology is unique in that it
corrects not only the frequency response but also the impulse
response of the signal, in contrast with other solutions that do
not optimize the impulse response. Correcting both the frequency
and impulse responses yields remarkable improvements in the stereo
image, clarity and overall reproduction of the music. MSRP for the
Dirac Live Room Correction Suite is $850 with an introductory
discount of 25% available now from the Dirac
Online Store.
Testimonials:
"Our customers expect the ultimate in every experience and
Dirac provides the ultimate within digital signal processing."
- Mike Hanks, Senior Engineer at Bentley Motors.
"I was completely amazed by the difference that Dirac made to
my new studio....Now everything sounds just right! significantly
more accurate across the whole frequency range plus the imaging is
incredible" - Ian Wallman, Ivor Nevello-nominated record
producer, UK.
